To prepare a delicious apple pie, we start by making the dough. In a large bowl, we add the flour and make a well in the center. Here, we pour in the lukewarm water in which we have dissolved the yeast, making sure it is well mixed to activate the fermentation. We add a pinch of salt, a tablespoon of vinegar, and the oil, gently mixing the ingredients to integrate them. Once we have a homogeneous mixture, we begin to knead the dough vigorously until it becomes elastic and smooth. It is important to ensure that the dough is not too sticky; if it is, we can add a little flour.

Once the dough is ready, we divide it into four equal pieces. Using a rolling pin, we roll out each piece of dough, obtaining four sheets the size of a large plate. Then, we take the first sheet, brush it with melted butter, and place another sheet on top. We continue this process with the other two sheets, so that in the end we have only two sheets brushed with butter. We let one of the sheets rest, while the other will be carefully rolled out, first by hand, to avoid tearing.

This rolled-out sheet will be placed on the work table, where we have laid a special tablecloth reserved exclusively for preparing these pies. With the help of the tablecloth, we will roll the sheet, obtaining a thin and long roll. Before adding the filling, the sheet must be very thin, almost like a cigarette paper. For the filling, we use grated apples, which we mix with vanilla sugar, rum, and sugar. It is recommended to squeeze the apples well, as they will release juice.

Once the filling is ready, we spread it evenly over the sheet, making sure to distribute it well. Then, using the tablecloth, we roll the sheet with the filling, obtaining a roll that we cut in half. We place these pieces in a greased baking dish. We repeat the process with the other sheet of dough. Once all the rolls are placed in the dish, we brush the pie with oil and put it in the preheated oven. We let it bake for about 30 minutes, or until it is nicely browned on top.

After the pie is baked, we take it out of the oven and dust it with powdered vanilla sugar. This apple pie is perfect to be served warm, but it is just as delicious cold. Enjoy your meal!

For the Dough: 50-70 g of butter at room temperature, one cup of lukewarm water (about 250 g), fresh yeast the size of a walnut, salt, 2 tablespoons of oil, one tablespoon of vinegar, flour as needed (about 500 g). For the Filling: 2 kg of apples, rum essence, vanilla sugar, 175 g of sugar.
