Chicken Breast with Cream Sauce and Cheese
Sultans Chicken is a delicious recipe that will bring a touch of flavor and savor to your table. We start the process by cutting the chicken breast into four even portions, allowing for even cooking. At this point, it is important to salt and pepper the meat to taste, ensuring that each piece will be full of flavor.
For an even richer culinary experience, we can opt for marinating the meat. We mix creamy yogurt with a little olive oil and a teaspoon of paprika, creating a flavorful marinade. We place the chicken pieces in this mixture, letting them soak up the flavors for a few hours in the refrigerator. The yogurt has tenderizing properties, and the paprika flavor will enhance the chicken's taste. If you prefer a quicker method, you can skip this step and go straight to cooking.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the hot grill. Cook it on both sides until it becomes golden and delicious. Once the chicken is ready, transfer it to a covered dish to keep it warm while we prepare the sauce.
Now we focus on the sauce, which will perfectly complement the chicken. Chop the peppers into small cubes and sauté them in a pan with a little oil, stirring constantly. Once they become soft, add the julienned mushrooms; I used about 7-8 champignon mushrooms, but you can experiment with other types of mushrooms based on your preferences. Add salt to taste and continue cooking until the liquid released by the mushrooms evaporates.
Now it's time to add a special ingredient: saffron. This is an expensive spice, so we use it sparingly. I added a packet of a quarter of a gram, and the vibrant yellow color it will give to the vegetables is simply amazing. After adding the saffron, mix well and let the vegetables cook for a few moments.
Over the sautéed vegetables, add the cream and let it simmer on low heat, so the flavors blend perfectly. Then, incorporate the grated cheese, which will melt and add a creamy texture to the sauce.
Once the sauce is ready, take it off the heat and pour it hot over the grilled chicken. Now, Sultans Chicken is ready to be served! This delicacy can be accompanied by a variety of sides, such as rice, mashed potatoes, boiled vegetables, or grilled vegetables, depending on your preferences.
