Strawberry Foam – A Quick and Delicious Spring Dessert

Total preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooling time: 2 hours
Number of servings: 4

Spring brings us an abundance of fresh and fragrant fruits, and strawberry foam is a dessert that perfectly captures the essence of this season. With a light texture and unmistakable flavor, this simple and quick dessert will surely become your favorite. Here’s how to prepare it step by step.

Ingredients:
- 200 g sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 2 cups (approximately 300 g) of fresh strawberries

1. Preparing the strawberries
Start by washing the strawberries well under a stream of cold water. Make sure to remove any impurities. After washing, cut them in half or quarters, depending on their size. You can reserve a few whole strawberries for the final decoration. In a bowl, add 50 g of sugar over the strawberries and let them sit for about 15 minutes. This step will help release the natural juices of the strawberries, intensifying the flavor of the dessert.

2. Beating the egg whites
In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer on medium speed. When the egg whites begin to become fluffy, gradually add the remaining sugar (150 g) and continue to beat until you achieve a stiff foam. This should take about 5-7 minutes. A useful trick is to check if the bowl can be turned upside down – if the foam doesn’t move, you’re on the right track!

3. Combining the ingredients
Once the egg whites are beaten and have a firm texture, add the marinated strawberries along with their juices to the egg white mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold the strawberries into the foam, being careful not to deflate the air in the egg whites. The movements should be delicate, from top to bottom, to maintain the aeration of the foam.

4. Cooling the foam
Transfer the obtained mixture into individual cups or bowls, leaving a little space at the top to add whipped cream later. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. This step is essential to allow the flavors to develop and to achieve a perfect texture.

5. Serving
When you are ready to serve, generously add whipped cream on top of the strawberry foam. You can decorate with a few whole strawberries and a little mint leaf for an elegant touch.

Personal suggestion: If you want to add a touch of sophistication, try adding a little vanilla or lemon juice to the egg white foam for a different and refreshing taste.

This strawberry foam is not just a quick dessert, but also an explosion of flavor and texture, perfect for ending a spring meal. It is a simple recipe but with a big impact, ideal for any occasion. Enjoy every spoonful of this delight!
