In this simple and quick recipe, we will create delicious sweet baskets filled with an irresistible combination of chocolate and caramelized pears. This elegant dessert is perfect for any occasion, from a special dinner to a gathering with friends.
Ingredients:
For the baskets:
- 200 g biscuits (preferably digestive biscuits or Petit Beurre)
- 100 g margarine (or butter, if preferred)
- 150 g dark chocolate (or milk chocolate, depending on preference)
For the filling:
- 2 large ripe but firm pears
- 50 g sugar
- 30 g butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Preparation method:
1. Preparing the biscuits: Start by crushing the biscuits. You can use a food processor to achieve a fine powder or, if you don’t have one, place them in a bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Make sure they are well crushed to form an even crust.
2. Melting the chocolate: In a bowl, add the chopped chocolate and margarine. Place the bowl over a double boiler or, if preferred, in the microwave on low power, stirring frequently until the chocolate and margarine melt completely and combine.
3. Combining the ingredients: Pour the chocolate mixture over the crushed biscuits. Use a spatula to mix well, ensuring that the biscuits are completely coated in chocolate. This will become the base of the baskets.
4. Forming the baskets: Prepare a muffin tray, lightly greased with butter or margarine to prevent sticking. Distribute the biscuit and chocolate mixture into the muffin cups, pressing down firmly to form an even crust that is higher on the edges, leaving a space in the middle for the filling.
5. Baking: Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the baskets for 10-15 minutes, until firm. Let them cool slightly before removing from the tray.
6. Preparing the caramelized pears: Meanwhile, peel the pears and cut them into small cubes. In a pan, melt 30 g of butter, add the sugar and stir until the sugar starts to caramelize. Add the pears and, if desired, the cinnamon. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, until the pears become soft and caramelized.
7. Filling the baskets: Once the baskets have cooled completely, fill each basket with the caramelized pears, ensuring the filling is evenly distributed.
8. Serving: The sweet baskets are delicious both warm and cold. You can serve them with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a perfect contrast between warm and cold.
Helpful tips:
- If you want a vegan option, use 100% plant-based margarine and dairy-free dark chocolate.
- Experiment with other fruits, such as apples or peaches, to vary the recipe.
- You can add a hint of flavor by adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture.
These sweet baskets are not only a treat for the taste buds but also a true visual feast, perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself. Enjoy every bite!
