To prepare a delicious and refined dessert like panna cotta, we will start by preparing the gelatin sheets. It is important for the gelatin to be well-hydrated, so we will soak it in a plate with cold water for about 2-3 minutes, during which it will swell and be ready for use.

In parallel, we will take care of the other ingredients. We take a saucepan and heat the milk over low heat. It is essential to ensure that the milk becomes warm but not hot, so as not to affect the final texture of the dessert. In another saucepan, we put the cream together with the sugar, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes until the sugar completely dissolves. This step is crucial for obtaining a homogeneous and creamy mixture.

Once the gelatin has been well-hydrated, we take it out of the water and carefully squeeze it in our hands to remove the excess water. We add it to the saucepan with warm milk, stirring vigorously until it completely dissolves. This will give the panna cotta its characteristic silky and fluffy texture. After the gelatin has melted, it is time to combine the two mixtures: the milk with the cream. We add a tablespoon of vanilla essence, which will provide an irresistible aroma to our dessert.

We mix all the ingredients well to ensure that the flavors blend perfectly, then we pour the mixture into the desired molds. Depending on personal preferences, we can use bowls, silicone molds, or other types of containers, such as those shaped like roses or rings. I personally obtained five spacious bowls, but you can adjust the quantities if you want to prepare a smaller portion by reducing the ingredients proportionally.

After filling the molds, we will put them in the fridge. It is ideal to let the panna cotta cool and set overnight to achieve a perfect texture. The next day, when we savor it, it will surprise us with its delicacy and creaminess. It is a sweet dessert, but not too sweet, just to our taste. Panna cotta can be decorated with fresh fruits or caramel sauce for an extra flavor boost. Enjoy this delicacy and feel free to adapt it to your preferences! Enjoy your meal!

Ingredients: 500 ml heavy whipping cream, 500 ml milk, 200 g regular sugar, 12 g gelatin sheets (I used a whole packet of "paneangeli" gelatin, which contains 6 sheets of 2 g each), 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.
