To make a delicious and unique cake, start by preparing all the necessary ingredients. Make sure you have flour, sugar, eggs, butter, baking powder, milk, vanilla essence, jam, coconut, and cocoa on hand. It is important that the ingredients are at room temperature for better incorporation.

In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix them well with a spatula to combine evenly. In another container, beat the eggs with a whisk until frothy, then add the melted butter, warm milk, and vanilla essence. Mix these ingredients well, then pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients. Carefully mix everything, avoiding overmixing, until a homogeneous dough forms.

Divide the dough into two equal parts. In the first part, add the grated coconut and mix well to distribute it evenly. In the second part, incorporate the cocoa and, if desired, a splash of jam for extra flavor. Mix until homogeneous. Now that you have prepared the two mixtures, it’s time to layer them in the pan.

Line a baking pan with parchment paper to prevent the cake from sticking. Start by pouring a layer of the white batter, spreading it evenly on the bottom of the pan. Then, add a layer of the brown batter, alternating until you finish both mixtures. Make sure the layers are well defined to achieve an attractive appearance when the cake is cut.

After you have finished layering, place the pan in the preheated oven at a moderate temperature, about 180 degrees Celsius. Bake the cake for 30-40 minutes or until the toothpick test comes out clean from the center of the cake. When done, let the cake cool in the pan, then transfer it to a rack to cool completely. You can decorate it with a little jam or powdered sugar on top, adding a sprinkle of coconut for an attractive appearance. Enjoy every slice of this delicious combination of flavors!
