To prepare a delicious cake that will impress anyone, I propose a simple recipe with a spectacular result. Start by placing 100 grams of butter, 200 grams of sugar, and 5 tablespoons of milk in a pot over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar completely dissolves and the mixture becomes homogeneous. It is essential not to let the mixture boil too hard, just to warm it up, so it does not caramelize.

Once the mixture has cooled slightly, you can add 4 well-beaten egg yolks, stirring continuously to avoid coagulating the eggs. Now, it is time to gradually incorporate 200 grams of flour, mixing carefully to avoid lumps. You can also add the grated zest of a lemon, which will provide a fresh scent and a subtle flavor to your cake, enhancing the final taste.

Separately, in another bowl, beat the 4 egg whites until you obtain a firm foam. This step is crucial to give the cake a fluffy and airy texture. After you have obtained the foam, gently fold the egg whites into the previous mixture using a spatula, mixing from the bottom up to maintain the aeration.

Prepare a baking tray, grease it with oil, and dust it with flour to prevent the cake from sticking. Carefully pour the mixture into the tray and level the surface with a spatula. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and place the tray inside. Let the cake bake for about 1 hour. Five minutes before removing it, increase the oven temperature so that the cake browns nicely on the surface.

After the baking time has passed, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool. As soon as it has cooled completely, dust it with vanilla sugar for an extra sweetness and a pleasing aesthetic appearance. When you cut it, you will delightfully notice that the cake has structured perfectly, forming two layers of sponge and one layer of cream in the middle. Enjoy this delicacy with your loved ones, savoring every bite!
