In a thicker pot, we add the whipped cream and the chocolate broken into small pieces. It is important that the chocolate is of good quality to achieve a rich and delicious cream. We transfer the mixture to the heat on low intensity, stirring continuously to prevent the chocolate from burning. This process will take a few minutes, but patience is key as we want the chocolate to melt evenly without forming lumps. Once the mixture becomes homogeneous and creamy, we remove the pot from the heat and let it cool to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator. It is recommended to let the mixture cool for 4-5 hours, but if you have time, letting it sit overnight will intensify the flavors.

After it has completely cooled, we take the mixture out of the refrigerator and using a mixer, we start whipping until we obtain an airy and fluffy foam. It is time to add the mascarpone, white rum, and vanilla extract. These ingredients will bring an extra layer of flavor and creaminess. If you prefer a sweeter cream, now is the time to incorporate 1-2 tablespoons of powdered sugar, adjusting the sweetness to your taste.

For assembling the dessert, we prepare two small ceramic dishes, but you can also use a tray or a larger dish depending on your preferences. We start by placing a first layer of ladyfingers, which we will quickly dip in coffee to soften them a bit. These ladyfingers will add a note of flavor and texture. On top of these ladyfingers, we spread a generous layer of cream. We continue with another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by another layer of cream.

To finish the dessert, we sprinkle a layer of instant coffee and dust with cocoa, adding an elegant look and an intense chocolate flavor. As a final touch, we can decorate with a few heart-shaped candies, which will bring an extra splash of color and joy to our dessert. After we finish assembling, we chill the dessert for 1-2 hours, allowing the flavors to blend perfectly.
