Desert - Alvita by Hortensia D. - Recipia
Homemade alvita is a sweet delicacy that captures the hearts of children and not only. This dessert can be prepared either in dough sheets or in wafer sheets, with the quick version being preferred by many housewives due to the simplicity and speed of the preparation process. Regardless of the choice made, the result will always be a delicious and inviting one.

To prepare homemade alvita, we need essential ingredients that bring a rich taste and a pleasant texture. We start with 200 grams of crushed biscuits, which will form the base of this dessert. The biscuits can be the preferred choice, whether we opt for plain ones or those with cocoa, to intensify the flavor. We continue with 100 grams of melted butter, which will add flavor and bind the ingredients together. We will also use 300 grams of powdered sugar, which will sweeten the mixture and contribute to creating a fine texture.

An essential ingredient is cocoa cream or melted chocolate, of which we will need 200 grams. This will add an intense chocolate flavor, making alvita irresistible. Last but not least, it is important to add vanilla essence, about a teaspoon, to provide a special fragrance and balance the sweetness.

For preparation, we start by mixing the crushed biscuits with the melted butter until a homogeneous mixture forms. This will be the base to which we will add the other ingredients. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, we combine the cocoa cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla essence, mixing well until we obtain a creamy mass. After the biscuit mixture has cooled slightly, we will combine it with the chocolate cream, mixing with a spatula to ensure that all ingredients are well integrated.

Once we have obtained a uniform mixture, we pour the mixture into a tray lined with plastic wrap or baking paper, leveling the surface with a spatula. Then, we let the alvita cool in the refrigerator for about 3-4 hours, until it sets well. Once the cooling time has passed, we can cut the alvita into squares or diamonds, as preferred.

Homemade alvita is served with great pleasure, both as a sweet snack for children and as a dessert at festive meals. Whether we enjoy it plain or with a dollop of whipped cream, this recipe will bring joy and smiles to the faces of loved ones. Thus, alvita becomes not just a simple snack, but a symbol of beautiful moments spent together.
