Appetizer Cake
Appetizer cake – a savory delight for any occasion
This appetizer cake is a perfect choice for a party, a picnic, or simply for a family evening. It combines simple yet flavorful ingredients in a creative and appealing way. The preparation time is approximately 30 minutes, and the resting time is 1 hour, making this recipe a quick dessert full of delicious tastes. This recipe is intended for 8 servings.
Ingredients:
- 1 round black bread (approximately 250 g)
- 500 g zacuscă
- 450 g roe (preferably carp or pike roe)
- 500 g liver pâté
- 300 g creamy cheese (like homemade cheese or cream cheese)
- Black and green olives (for decoration)
- Bell pepper (for decoration)
Preparation steps:
1. Preparing the bread: Use a sharp knife to remove the top from the round bread, creating a base layer that you will cut into 4 approximately equal slices. Make sure the cut is even to achieve nice layers.
2. Spreading the slices:
- Start with the first slice and spread a generous layer of creamy cheese. This will add a soft texture and a delicate taste.
- Continue with the second slice, which you will spread with zacuscă. Zacuscă provides a rich, slightly smoky flavor that will blend perfectly with the other ingredients.
- The third slice will be spread with roe, adding a salty and umami element to the dish.
- The last slice of bread will be topped with liver pâté, bringing an intense flavor and a unique aroma.
3. Assembling the cake: Stack each slice on top of each other to form a cake. Ensure that all layers are well arranged and that the cake is stable.
4. Decorating the cake: Once the cake is assembled, you can decorate it with olives and bell pepper, using your creativity. You can cut the bell pepper into thin strips or cubes for a more attractive appearance.
5. Resting the cake: Let the cake sit at room temperature for about 1 hour. This waiting time allows the ingredients to blend and penetrate the bread, resulting in a harmonious taste.
6. Serving: After the resting time has passed, cut the cake into suitable slices and serve it with a glass of wine or a refreshing drink. It is an excellent choice to be enjoyed with friends or family.
Variation suggestions:
To vary the recipe, you can replace some of the ingredients with chickpea puree, tahini, bean spread, or spinach puree. It is important to keep the cheese and zacuscă, as they give the cake a unique taste, balancing sweet and salty. You can experiment with different types of roe or pâtés, adapting the recipe to your preferences.
This appetizer cake not only looks impressive but is also delicious and versatile, making it perfect for any occasion. Try it and enjoy the flavor combinations! Enjoy your meal!
