Salad - Tonosalata by Letitia D. - Recipia
To prepare a delicious and flavorful dish, we will use simple ingredients that, together, create a perfect combination. We start with the pasta. Choose your favorite type of pasta, whether it is penne, fusilli, or spaghetti, but make sure it is al dente. Boil the pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted water. Once the pasta is ready, drain it and let it cool slightly.

In a large bowl, add a mix of fresh vegetables, such as diced red, green, and yellow bell peppers, as well as chopped ripe tomatoes. These vegetables will bring not only color but also a crunchy texture that will complement the pasta. Add some sliced green and black olives for an extra burst of flavor and a Mediterranean touch.

Now, it’s time to add the seasonings. Sprinkle salt, freshly ground pepper, and dried herbs such as oregano and basil. You can also add a splash of extra virgin olive oil, which will provide a rich flavor and bind all the ingredients together. Gently mix everything, being careful not to break the pasta or the vegetables.

For an extra burst of flavor, you can add crumbled feta cheese or grated parmesan, which will melt slightly into the warm mixture and provide an intense aroma. If you want a spicy touch, a few chili flakes will do wonders.

A unique aspect of this recipe is the presentation. Prepare tomatoes and bell peppers of various colors, cut in half and carefully hollowed out. These will become perfect vessels for the pasta and vegetable mix. Fill each tomato and pepper with the delicious mixture, and finally, drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle some fresh basil leaves on top.

Serve this dish warm or at room temperature, and enjoy a colorful, healthy feast full of flavors. This dish is perfect for a gathering with friends or a family dinner, demonstrating that healthy food can also be extremely tasty!
