Salmon, although classified as a 'fatty fish', proves to be an extremely healthy food due to its rich content of Omega 3 fatty acids. These are essential for heart and brain health, having beneficial effects on the circulatory system and helping to reduce inflammation. In combination with ginger, a valued ingredient in Asian cuisine, we obtain a dish that is not only tasty but also full of nutrients. Ginger, the rhizome of the Zingiber plant, has been used for centuries as a delicacy, medicine, and spice, renowned for its intense aroma and therapeutic properties. It adds flavor and a spicy note to dishes, transforming every meal into a unique culinary experience.

To prepare this delicacy, we need the following ingredients: a salmon fillet (which can be equivalent to half of a whole salmon), a lemon, a tablespoon of grated ginger, 3-4 fresh basil leaves, salt, and pepper to taste. As for the necessary tools, it is ideal to have a bamboo steamer and a wok available.

The first step in preparation is to cut the salmon fillet into suitable pieces. These will cook evenly and acquire a tender texture. Then, we take a few lettuce leaves and place them in the bamboo steamer; these will help absorb the flavors and prevent the fish from sticking. Now, we place the salmon fillets on top of the lettuce leaves, preparing them for steaming.

The next step is to add water to the wok until it reaches a height of about 2 cm. To this water, we add the green basil leaves, which will provide a fresh and delicious aroma during cooking. We let the water boil, and in the meantime, we season the fish. We season the fillets with salt and pepper, sprinkle the grated ginger evenly over their surface, and add slices of lemon, which will bring a note of acidity and a refined taste.

After the water has started boiling, we place the steamer in the wok and let it steam for 10-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked but remains juicy and full of flavor. It is important to monitor the cooking time, as overcooked fish can become dry.

To serve, we recommend a soy sauce, which will perfectly complement the flavors of the dish. Additionally, a side of steamed vegetables, such as broccoli, carrots, or zucchini, will add color and nutrients.

This simple yet sophisticated recipe promises to enrich your meals with Asian flavors and health. Enjoy your meal!
