Drinks - Ice Coffee by Maia J. - Recipia
To prepare a delicious iced coffee, the first essential step is to take care of the coffee. Choose a quality coffee blend, preferably freshly ground. Boil water to a temperature of about 90-95 degrees Celsius, then add the ground coffee to a filter or French press, depending on your preferences. Let the coffee steep for 4-5 minutes to achieve an intense and rich flavor.

Once the coffee is ready, it’s time to decide whether to add sugar. If you are a lover of sweet coffee, add a few teaspoons of sugar to the hot coffee and stir well until completely dissolved. However, if you prefer a less sweet taste, you can skip this step, as I did, since I prepared this recipe for my husband, who prefers unsweetened coffee.

After you have the perfect coffee, let it cool to room temperature. This is important because hot coffee will not mix well with ice and will quickly melt the cubes, diluting the flavor. Once the coffee has cooled, cover the cup with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for about 1-2 hours until it reaches a pleasant temperature, ideal for sipping.

Once the coffee has been in the fridge and is well chilled, you are ready for the assembly stage. Choose a tall glass and add a few ice cubes. Make sure the ice is fresh so it doesn’t affect the final taste of the drink. Pour the iced coffee over the ice, filling the glass halfway or to your desired level.

Finally, add cold milk over the coffee. You can use whole milk, semi-skimmed milk, or even plant-based alternatives like almond or oat milk, depending on personal preferences. Gently stir to combine the ingredients, letting the delicious flavors blend perfectly.

And there you have it, your iced coffee is ready to enjoy! This drink is perfect for hot summer days or simply when you want to cool down with something special. Enjoy!
