We start this delicious recipe with a basic ingredient: potatoes. The first step is to ensure that the potatoes are free of any impurities. Therefore, we wash them thoroughly with a brush under running water, making sure to remove all dirt residues. Once cleaned, we boil them in salted water until they become soft and fragrant. This is the perfect time to take care of the other ingredients.

After boiling the potatoes, we take them out of the water and let them cool a bit. Then, we carefully peel them to ensure that each slice is uniform. We place the potato slices on an absorbent napkin for 10-15 minutes to eliminate excess moisture. During this time, we prepare our heat-resistant dish: we grease the bottom with a thin layer of butter, which will help achieve a golden and crispy crust.

Next, we arrange the potato slices in the dish in an orderly manner, so that each slice slightly overlaps. This will be the first layer of our dish. Between the potato slices, we add a few small pieces of butter to provide a rich flavor and creamy texture. It is important to keep a little butter aside to add at the end.

Now it’s time to take care of the boiled eggs. After peeling them, we slice them thinly, being careful not to crush them. We place the egg slices on top of the potato layer, covering the entire surface. On top of the eggs, we add a thin layer of sour cream, followed by grated cheese or cheese. This mixture will add a special flavor to our dish.

We repeat the layering process, continuing with potato slices, boiled eggs, sour cream, and cheese until we reach almost the edge of the dish. Make sure the last layer is made of potatoes for a beautiful presentation. We keep a small amount of sour cream and cheese to add at the end for an intense flavor.

In a separate bowl, we whisk the eggs with a whisk, then add the sour cream and continue mixing until we obtain a homogeneous composition. This will be poured over the last layer of potatoes, ensuring that it blends perfectly with the ingredients underneath.

To finish the dish, we sprinkle grated cheese on top and drizzle with the remaining melted butter for a gratin effect. If you wish, you can also add chopped dill, which will provide an extra freshness and aroma.

Now, the composition is ready to be placed in the oven. We let it gratin for about 10 minutes, until a golden and appetizing crust forms on the surface. After taking it out, let the dish cool a bit, then serve it with pleasure! This recipe is not only delicious but also easy to make, perfect for a family meal or to impress guests. Bon appétit!
