Super chocolate cake
Super Chocolate Cake: A Sweet No-Bake Indulgence
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Resting time: 8 hours (ideally overnight)
Number of servings: 10-12
In a world full of desserts, the super chocolate cake elegantly makes its way, paying tribute to chocolate lovers. This recipe is inspired by a champagne biscuit cake but with a personal and chocolatey twist. Perfect for warm days or when you don't want to complicate things with an oven, this cake is a perfect choice for gatherings with friends or special occasions.
Here’s how to prepare it step by step:
Ingredients
For the cake:
- 2 packs of ladyfingers (about 400 g)
- 200 ml milk (for the chocolate cream)
- 1 packet of vanilla pudding (about 37 g)
- 200 g dark chocolate (preferably 70% cocoa)
- 250 ml liquid cream (whipped)
- 200 ml milk (for the syrup)
- 2 tablespoons of Nesquik powder (or cocoa if you prefer a more intense flavor)
For decoration:
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 1 teaspoon of oil
Step 1: Prepare the syrup
Start by heating 200 ml of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once the milk starts to steam, add the two tablespoons of Nesquik powder. Stir well until completely dissolved, achieving a delicious and aromatic syrup. This syrup will add a wonderful chocolate flavor to the ladyfingers. Once homogenized, let it cool.
Step 2: Prepare the cream
In another container, add the remaining 200 ml of milk and the packet of vanilla pudding. Cook according to the package instructions, stirring constantly, until the pudding thickens. Once the pudding is ready, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly. While the pudding cools, melt the dark chocolate, either in a double boiler or in the microwave, being careful to stir every 30 seconds.
After the chocolate has melted, let it cool slightly, then incorporate it into the vanilla pudding. Mix well until you achieve a smooth cream. Finally, add the whipped cream with a spatula, gently folding to preserve the air in the cream and achieve a fluffy and creamy texture.
Step 3: Assemble the cake
Prepare a platter on which you will assemble the cake. Dip each ladyfinger in the prepared chocolate syrup, ensuring they are well soaked but not left too long to avoid disintegration. Place a first layer of ladyfingers on the platter, followed by a generous layer of chocolate cream. Repeat the process, alternating between ladyfingers and cream, creating a total of 3 layers.
Step 4: Decorate the cake
To add a special touch, we will prepare a chocolate glaze. Melt the 50 g of dark chocolate with the teaspoon of oil using the same method as before. Once melted and homogenized, spread the glaze on a fine plastic or aluminum foil base in a thin layer. Place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes until it hardens.
After it has been in the refrigerator, use a wide-bladed knife to scrape the chocolate, creating elegant shavings. Use these decorations to adorn the cake, giving it a sophisticated look.
Step 5: Chill
Cover the cake with cling film and let it chill in the refrigerator overnight to firm up well and allow the flavors to meld.
Serving
When you are ready to serve the cake, cut it into portions and offer a piece of this chocolatey delicacy to friends or family. It pairs perfectly with a fragrant coffee or black tea. You can also serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious contrast.
Helpful Tips
- Variations: You can replace dark chocolate with milk chocolate for a sweeter taste or even with white chocolate for a more delicate cake. You can also add chopped nuts or fresh fruits between layers for added texture.
- Nutritional benefits: Although this cake is sweet, cocoa has antioxidant benefits, and the cream adds a touch of creaminess. Enjoy it in moderation to savor the flavor without overdoing the calories.
- Frequently Asked Questions:
- Can I use a different type of milk? Absolutely! Almond or coconut milk can add an interesting flavor.
- How long can it be kept? The cake can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, but it will surely disappear faster!
