Preparation time: 20 minutes
Baking time: 30-40 minutes
Total time: 60 minutes
Number of servings: 12

Ingredients for the brownie:
- 200 g butter (or margarine, preferably butter for a richer taste)
- 200 ml cold milk
- 250 g sugar
- 250 g flour
- 100 g high-quality dark cocoa
- 150 g nuts (or more, to taste)
- 4 eggs
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- A dash of rum essence

Ingredients for the coffee sauce:
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 150 ml freshly brewed strong coffee
- 2 tablespoons of liquid cream
- 50 g butter
- 3 teaspoons of good quality rum
- 1 teaspoon of cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons of cold coffee
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 3 drops of coffee essence (optional)

Step by step:

1. Preparing the brownie:
Start by lightly toasting the nuts in a dry pan until golden and fragrant. Let them cool, then chop them coarsely. This step will enhance the nut flavor and add a pleasant texture to the cake.

2. Mixing the ingredients:
In a bowl, cut the butter into cubes and add it to the cold milk. Sift the cocoa over the butter and milk in the bowl, then add the sugar. Place the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the butter melts completely and the mixture becomes homogeneous. This is the delicious base for your brownie.

3. Cooling the mixture:
Once it reaches a boil, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool completely. This step is essential to avoid cooking the eggs when you add them to the mixture.

4. Adding the eggs and flour:
After the mixture has cooled, add the vanilla sugar and rum essence, mixing well. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, sift the flour mixed with the baking powder and gradually add it to the mixture. Finally, fold in the chopped nuts.

5. Baking the brownie:
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a baking tray with butter and flour, then pour the mixture into the tray. Bake the brownie for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the tray, then cut it into squares.

6. Preparing the coffee sauce:
In a saucepan, place the sugar over medium heat and let it caramelize. When it turns golden, carefully add the hot coffee, stirring continuously. Add the liquid cream and butter, mixing well until homogeneous. Finally, add the vanilla sugar, coffee essence (if using), and rum. Dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold coffee and add it to the sauce, keeping it on low heat until it thickens.

7. Serving:
Pour the warm coffee sauce over the cut brownies and let them absorb the flavors. You can serve this delicious dessert alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream for a delightful temperature contrast.

Variation suggestion: You can add some pieces of dark chocolate to the brownie mixture for an extra intensity of flavor.

This brownie with nuts and coffee sauce is not just a simple dessert, but also a true taste experience. Whether you make it for a special occasion or to treat yourself, it will surely become a favorite among your loved ones!
