To prepare a delicious apple tart, we start by thinking of a quick dough, which will provide a perfect base for the flavorful fruits. In a large bowl, we combine 150 g of flour with 75 g of soft butter, 50 g of sugar, and a pinch of salt, adding an egg yolk as well. We mix the ingredients well with a spatula or by hand until we obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough. When the dough is ready, we form a ball and cover it with plastic wrap. We let it rest at room temperature for about an hour, which will help develop the flavor and texture.

Meanwhile, we take care of the apples. We wash and peel the apples, then cut them into quarters. This method will help us obtain uniformly sized apple slices, which will be nicely arranged in the tart. We sprinkle the apples with lemon juice to prevent oxidation and keep their vibrant color.

In a pan, we add 150 g of sugar and a tablespoon of water, which we put on low heat to caramelize the sugar. It is important to stir constantly to avoid burning. Once the sugar has taken on a golden hue, we add the apples and 50 g of diced butter. We continue cooking over medium heat for about 15 minutes, being careful to arrange the apples nicely in the pan, as they will be the top part of our tart.

After we finish caramelizing the apples, we let the mixture cool slightly. Meanwhile, we preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Once the apples have cooled, we take the dough out of the wrap and roll it out on a floured surface until we obtain a thin sheet large enough to cover the apples in the pan. We place the dough over the cooled apples and, using the tip of a knife, make a few holes in the dough to allow steam to escape during baking.

We put the pan in the oven and bake the tart for 25-30 minutes, or until the dough turns golden and crispy. Once done, we let the tart cool for about 15 minutes, then place a plate over the pan and carefully flip the tart. This way, we will achieve a beautiful presentation with the caramelized apples on top. We serve the tart warm or at room temperature, perhaps with a spoonful of sour cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra touch of flavor. This simple yet tasty recipe will surely become a family and friends' favorite!
