Little Tree from Sugar Glaze
To prepare a delicious and attractive little fir tree made of icing, we start by preparing the egg white. Gently beat the egg white with a fork, being careful not to turn it into foam, but just to loosen it. Once the egg white is ready, take 2 tablespoons of it and mix it with an equal amount of fresh orange juice. This mixture will add a subtle flavor and a pleasant hue to the icing. Then, gradually add sugar, continuously mixing, until you obtain a thick icing that has a consistency similar to that of a manageable paste.
Once the icing is ready, transfer it to a thick plastic bag. Make sure to cut a corner of the bag very slightly, about 2-3 mm, to better control the flow of the icing. Place the cone on a small plate, so you have more stability while decorating. This trick will allow you to easily rotate the plate, facilitating the application of the icing.
Start adding dots of icing, beginning at the base of the little fir tree, and then, as you rotate the plate, continue to move up towards the top. This process will not only create a layered look, but it will also allow the icing to dry evenly. After you have applied the first layer, wait a few minutes for it to dry. Then, add a second layer, repeating the same technique, starting again from the base of the little fir tree and moving towards the top.
For an even more impressive effect, carefully draw the icing from the plastic bag, so that you create shapes resembling the branches of the fir tree. Once you have finished decorating, let the little fir tree dry on the kitchen table for a few hours. This will ensure that the icing hardens properly and retains its shape.
Once the little fir tree is completely dry, carefully detach it from the plate. It can be used as an elegant decoration for cakes or desserts, bringing a touch of magic and creativity to your table. This icing little fir tree is not just a visual delight, but also a perfect example of how a little patience and technique can transform simple ingredients into delicious works of art.
