Coconut Roll
In a generous bowl, we start by mixing the crushed biscuits, coconut, and ground nuts. These ingredients will bring an intense flavor and a pleasant texture to our dessert. We add the four egg yolks, vanilla sugar, and honey, which will add sweetness and a floral note. It is important to ensure that all ingredients are well integrated to form a homogeneous and delicious composition.
In a separate saucepan, we heat the milk over low heat, being careful not to let it boil. Once the milk is warm, we add the butter cut into cubes, allowing it to melt gradually. The aroma of melted butter will perfectly complement the other ingredients, adding richness to the dessert. After the butter has completely melted, we pour the milk mixture over the biscuit and nut composition. We mix with a spatula or a wooden spoon, ensuring that all ingredients are incorporated. If the mixture is too dry, we can gradually add milk until we achieve a slightly sticky consistency that allows us to form rolls.
On a plastic wrap, we sprinkle cocoa or colored candies, depending on our preferences. We place part of the obtained mixture on the wrap, making sure to distribute it evenly. With the help of the wrap, we tightly roll the mixture, forming a well-defined roll. This will have a neat appearance and will be easy to cut later. Once we have formed all the desired rolls, we place them in the refrigerator for a few hours, preferably overnight. This step is essential as it helps to firm up the dessert and allows the flavors to develop.
After the rolls have been in the fridge, we take them out and cut them into thick slices of about 1-2 cm. The slices are ideal for serving at a festive meal or simply to indulge ourselves during moments of relaxation.
