Stuffed Buns with Vegetables and Kaizer

Discover the pleasure of preparing stuffed buns with fresh vegetables and kaizer, a savory and comforting appetizer, perfect for any occasion. This simple yet delicious recipe is sure to become a family and friends' favorite. The total preparation time is approximately 40 minutes, and the recipe is enough for 4 servings.

Ingredients:
- 3 fresh buns
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- 1 bell pepper (preferably red or yellow for extra color)
- 150 g kaizer (or another type of smoked sausage)
- 1 roasted pepper (or bell pepper for a more intense flavor)
- 1 small leek
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon dehydrated mushroom mix
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (oregano, basil, or thyme)
- Sea salt to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Ingredients:
Start by washing the tomatoes and bell pepper. Cut the tomatoes and bell pepper into small cubes. Also, chop the kaizer and roasted pepper into similar pieces. Wash the leek well and slice it thinly. This vegetable mix will give a fresh taste and varied texture to the stuffed bun.

2. Sautéing the Vegetables:
In a large skillet, add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and heat it over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the sliced leek and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it becomes slightly translucent. Then, add the kaizer and sauté for another 2 minutes until it starts to brown.

3. Adding the Vegetables:
Now, add the tomatoes, bell pepper, and roasted pepper to the skillet. Season with pepper, sea salt, the mushroom mix, and herbs. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Make sure the vegetables soften and combine well.

4. Filling the Buns:
Meanwhile, prepare the buns. Cut off the top of each bun and scoop out the insides, leaving a thin layer of bread to prevent breaking. In a bowl, beat the 3 eggs and add them to the sautéed vegetable mix, stirring well.

5. Fill the Buns:
Fill each bun with the vegetable and egg mixture. Make sure the filling is evenly distributed. Place the stuffed buns in a baking dish.

6. Baking:
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Bake the stuffed buns for about 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are fully cooked and the buns are lightly browned.

7. Serving:
Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. These stuffed buns are excellent both warm and at room temperature. You can serve them with a fresh salad or a yogurt sauce for an extra refreshing touch.

Variation Suggestions:
For a vegetarian version, replace the kaizer with marinated tofu or tempeh. You can also experiment with other vegetables, such as zucchini or eggplant. Additionally, adding grated cheese on top before baking will provide a delicious crust.

Enjoy these stuffed buns with vegetables and kaizer, a tasty and easy-to-make dish that is sure to impress everyone!
