Asparagus is a delicious and versatile vegetable, perfect for adding a splash of color and flavor to your dishes. We start by carefully selecting the asparagus; make sure the stalks are firm, with a vibrant green color and tight tips. Now, let's focus on preparing this tasty side dish.

The first step is to trim the woody part of the asparagus, about 2 cm from the base. This will ensure we enjoy the best texture and flavor of the vegetable. After cleaning the asparagus, we wash it well under a stream of cold water to remove any impurities. It is important to dry it with a clean towel or paper napkin to prevent steaming during baking.

In a large bowl, we add the trimmed asparagus and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, which will give a delicious flavor and help caramelize the vegetable in the oven. We sprinkle salt and freshly ground pepper, adjusting the seasonings to personal taste. We mix everything carefully, so the asparagus is evenly coated with oil and spices.
