Lasagna is a classic Italian dish, perfect for family meals or entertaining guests. With rich layers of pasta, meat, sauce, and cheese, this simple recipe will bring a touch of joy to every serving. Let’s discover together how to prepare a delicious lasagna that will impress everyone!

Ingredients:

- 400 g ground meat (beef or a mix of beef and pork)
- 9-12 lasagna sheets (depending on the size of the dish)
- 400 ml spaghetti sauce (tomato sauce)
- 200 ml water
- 250 g ricotta cheese
- 200 g grated mozzarella
- 100 g grated parmesan
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dried oregano and basil, to preference

Preparation:

1. Start by preheating the oven to 180°C. This will ensure even baking of the lasagna, allowing all layers to blend perfectly.

2. In a large skillet, add the olive oil and heat it over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until translucent and fragrant.

3. Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook it, stirring constantly, until it changes color. It’s important to cook it well so that it remains juicy and full of flavor. Once the meat is cooked, drain the excess fat.

4. Pour the spaghetti sauce and water into the skillet. Mix well and let it simmer over low heat for about 10-15 minutes. This step will allow the flavors to meld and intensify, giving the dish a wonderful taste.

5. In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. This filling will add a delicious creaminess to the lasagna.

6. Start assembling the lasagna. In a baking dish, add a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom. Place a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by a layer of ricotta cheese filling, another layer of meat sauce, and finally, a layer of grated mozzarella. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, making sure to finish with a layer of sauce and mozzarella.

7. Sprinkle the grated parmesan on top for a golden, crispy crust.

8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake the lasagna in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After this time, remove the foil and let the lasagna bake for another 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.

9. Once the lasagna is ready, take it out of the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This will help the layers set and make portioning easier.

Serving suggestions:

Serve the lasagna warm, alongside a fresh green salad and a slice of garlic bread. If you want to add a touch of freshness, sprinkle some fresh basil leaves on top.

Possible variations:

For a vegetarian version, replace the meat with sautéed vegetables such as zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms. You can also add fresh spinach to the cheese filling for an extra boost of vitamins.

This lasagna recipe is not only simple and quick but also extremely versatile. Experiment with your favorite ingredients and turn every meal into a special occasion! Bon appétit!
