Preparation time: 20 minutes
Baking time: 40 minutes
Total time: 1 hour
Number of servings: 12

Necessary ingredients:

*For the dough:*
- 250 g margarine (at room temperature)
- 8 tablespoons of cold milk
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 pinch of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- About 500 g of flour

*For the filling:*
- 1 kg grated apples (cored, skin can be kept for more flavor)
- 200 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons semolina
- 50 g powdered sugar (for decoration)

Preparing the apple pie:

1. Preparing the dough:
In a large bowl, add the margarine at room temperature. Use a mixer or spatula to mix the margarine until creamy. Then, add the cold milk, sugar, salt, and baking soda. Continue mixing until all the ingredients are well integrated.

2. Adding the flour:
Sift the flour gradually over the wet mixture, mixing constantly until you obtain an elastic dough. It is important not to add all the flour at once to avoid a too dense texture. Once you have a homogeneous dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour. This will help to firm up the dough and make it easier to roll out later.

3. Preparing the filling:
Meanwhile, wash, peel, and grate the apples. Place them in a saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and cinnamon, and sauté until the juice released by the apples evaporates. This step will not only intensify the flavor of the apples but also contribute to a less moist filling, which is essential to avoid a soggy pie.

4. Assembling the pie:
After the dough has been refrigerated, take it out and divide it into two parts: 3/4 for the base and 1/4 for decoration. On a floured surface, roll out 3/4 of the dough into a thin sheet, the size of the baking tray where you will bake the pie. Grease the tray with oil to prevent sticking.

5. Adding the filling:
Place the sheet of dough in the tray, being careful not to tear it. Using a fork, poke the dough in several places to allow steam to escape during baking. Sprinkle semolina over the entire surface of the sheet, then add the sautéed apples, leveling them evenly with the back of a wooden spoon.

6. Decorating the pie:
From the remaining dough, roll out another sheet and cut out hearts of various sizes. Place them over the apples, leaving a little space between them to allow for rising. This decoration not only adds a pleasing look to the pie but also a personal touch.

7. Baking:
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Place the tray in the oven and let it bake for about 40 minutes, or until the hearts are golden and browned. You will smell the inviting aroma of apples and cinnamon filling the kitchen.

8. Cooling and serving:
After the pie is baked, take it out of the oven and let it cool completely in the tray. Before serving, sprinkle powdered sugar on top for an elegant finish. This apple pie is delicious both warm and at room temperature.

Practical tips:
- For an even more intense flavor, you can add some chopped nuts or almonds to the filling.
- Instead of cinnamon, try using a pie spice mix, which will add a unique flavor.
- This pie pairs perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce, adding an extra layer of flavor.

Nutritional information:
This pie contains approximately 250 calories per serving, with significant carbohydrates from sugar and flour, but also fiber from apples. Apples are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, providing beneficial nutrients to the body.
