Desert - Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce by Anabela B. - Recipia
To create a delicious and comforting dessert, we will start by preparing a sweet bread pudding, a traditional dish that combines the fine flavors of milk with those of spices and sweet bread. In a suitable pot, add the milk and bring it to a boil. It is important to ensure that the milk does not reach boiling point, so before it boils, we will take it off the heat. Once the milk has cooled slightly, add the butter and gently mix until completely melted. This mixture is then left to cool, as it will later be combined with the other ingredients.

In another bowl, we put the sugar, eggs, cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla, then use a mixer to combine them for about a minute until we get a homogeneous and fluffy mixture. Then, we start gradually adding the cooled milk, mixing constantly to avoid lumps. This mixture will become the base of our pudding.

In a buttered baking dish, we arrange the pieces of sweet bread, making sure to distribute them evenly. On top of them, we sprinkle our favorite fruits, which will add a note of freshness and a pleasant contrast of textures. After arranging all the ingredients, we carefully pour the milk mixture over the sweet bread and fruits. It is essential that all the ingredients are well covered to achieve a consistent and flavorful pudding. Then, we place the dish in the preheated oven at a moderate heat and let it bake for about 25-30 minutes until the pudding has a golden crust and an appetizing appearance.

An important aspect to mention is that instead of using a large dish, we tried to divide the mixture into muffin molds, which was not the most inspired choice as it did not allow the milk to be absorbed properly and slightly burned on the surface. So, to avoid this mistake, I recommend using a suitable dish.

To accompany the pudding, we suggest preparing a delicious caramel sauce. In another pot, combine all the necessary ingredients and place them over medium heat. Let it boil for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid sticking. Once the sauce is ready, take it off the heat and add the vanilla essence. Let it cool slightly before pouring it over the sweet bread pudding, ice cream, or any other favorite dessert.

To add a note of diversity, you can try caramel sauce variations with cinnamon, coffee, or brandy flavors. These add an extra layer of flavor and can transform a simple dessert into an unforgettable culinary experience.

Additionally, a vanilla sauce can be an excellent choice. It is prepared by boiling the ingredients over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, and pouring it warm over the sweet bread pudding or bread, providing a rich and creamy taste. This dessert is perfect for any occasion and will surely bring smiles to the faces of those who enjoy it.
