Chicken with Beer - in the Oven

To prepare a delicious recipe of chicken thighs with kaizer and onion, start by washing and thoroughly drying the chicken thighs. They will need a generous seasoning, so don't hesitate to sprinkle them with salt, pepper, and, if you like, a little paprika for an extra flavor and color boost. Make sure to season both sides so that the taste is even and savory. Next, prepare the complementary ingredients. Cut the onion into cubes or slices, depending on your preference, and the kaizer into thin strips. These ingredients will add extra flavor to the dish. In a pan, heat two tablespoons of oil and a bit of butter over medium heat. Add the kaizer and let it fry until it becomes golden and crispy. Its aroma will fill the kitchen, providing a promising start to the dish. Once the kaizer is cooked, add the chopped onion and continue to sauté them together, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes soft and translucent. Then, set the mixture aside. In the same pan, add the remaining butter and oil, then place the chicken thighs to fry. It's important to fry them on high heat, turning them on all sides to achieve an even browning, which will help seal in the juices of the meat and create an appetizing texture. After a few minutes, the thighs will develop a nice crust, indicating they are ready to be combined with the other ingredients. There are two methods by which you can finish the dish. The first option involves using a pot where you add the fried thighs, the onion and kaizer mixture, as well as all the fat left in the pan. Pour the beer over the ingredients, bring to a boil, and reduce the heat, letting it simmer for 30 minutes with the lid partially on. You will notice how the aroma intensifies and the sauce thickens. The second option is to place the thighs, onion, and kaizer in an oven-safe dish. Cover it with aluminum foil and put it in the preheated oven at a medium temperature for 20-25 minutes. Afterwards, remove the foil and leave the dish in the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the meat becomes browned and the sauce reduces considerably. Finally, serve the dish while it is hot, plating the chicken thighs alongside the pieces of kaizer and the delicious sauce. This recipe is perfect for a family dinner or to impress friends at a festive meal. The combined flavors will turn each serving into an unforgettable culinary experience.
