Cabbage with rice and sausages in the oven

To prepare a delicious dish with cabbage, bacon, and rice, we start by preparing the basic ingredients. We take a fresh cabbage, which will be the star of this dish, and cut it into thin strips. In a pot, we add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, and then we add the sliced cabbage. It is important to add a tablespoon of water from time to time to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot. We cover it with a lid and let the cabbage soften a bit, but not too much; we want to keep the crunchy texture, which will add extra flavor to the final dish. Meanwhile, in a frying pan, we sauté the diced bacon and finely chopped onion. We let it cook for a few minutes until the onion becomes translucent, and the bacon releases its flavors. We then add the minced meat, mixing well to combine it with the bacon and onion. It is preferable to add a little water or vegetable broth to help cook the meat. We let the mixture cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the meat is well cooked, we remove the pan from the heat and add a little chopped parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper, adjusting the seasoning to taste. In another pot, we boil the rice in 2 cups of water with a little salt or, for a more intense flavor, we can use vegetable broth. After the rice has boiled, we let it cool a bit, and then we add chopped dill, which will provide a fresh and invigorating aroma to the dish. To assemble the dish, we grease a baking dish with a little oil. We place an even layer of cabbage at the bottom of the dish, followed by some sliced sausages. We continue with a layer of rice mixed with dill, followed by half of the sour cream, which will add creaminess to the dish. Then, we add the meat mixture, followed again by a layer of cabbage. On top of the cabbage, we place sliced tomatoes, which will not only provide an attractive appearance but also a touch of freshness. Finally, we pour the remaining sour cream, which will form a delicious crust during baking. We preheat the oven and place the dish inside, allowing it to bake for 30-35 minutes at a moderate heat. It is essential for the dish to brown nicely on top, so that we get an appetizing crust. Finally, we take the dish out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy this combination of flavors and textures that will delight everyone's taste buds!
