Puff Pastry with Fresh Jam

This quick, easy-to-make dessert is perfect for fasting and is a true delicacy, ideal for using leftover frozen fruits from various pastries. By combining strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries, we create a delicious jam, full of flavor, that transforms any meal into a feast of tastes. Here’s how to prepare this savory dessert! Start by thawing the puff pastry. It’s important to let it thaw completely so that it’s easy to handle. In the meantime, take a pan and heat the frozen fruits. Gently stir them to thaw evenly. Once they have softened, add sugar, grated lemon zest, lemon juice, and a few milliliters of water. Let the mixture cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces and becomes a thick jam. This process takes about 15-20 minutes, and the jam should have a creamy texture and an intense fruit flavor. Once ready, remove the pan from the heat and let the jam cool to room temperature. Once the puff pastry has completely thawed, cut it into 10 x 10 cm cubes. These dimensions are perfect for creating individual portions. On a piece of wax paper, the same size as the baking paper, place the puff pastry cubes. In the center of each cube, put a heaping teaspoon of the cooled jam. Then, fold two corners of the puff pastry to form a triangle, resembling a package. To seal the edges, press them with a fork, ensuring that the jam won’t leak during baking. After preparing all the packets, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Place the puff pastry packets on a baking tray and let them bake until golden and crispy, which will take about 20-25 minutes. The aroma that will unfold in the kitchen during baking will be irresistible! Once the packets are baked, let them cool slightly, then dust them with powdered sugar for an elegant look and an extra touch of sweetness. This dessert not only looks good, but its taste will also instantly win you over. Enjoy it alongside a cup of tea or coffee, and savor every bite! Enjoy your meal!
