Ingredients:
- 200 g chickpeas (cooked or canned)
- 200 g lentils (cooked)
- 2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic, cut into large pieces
- 2-3 fresh parsley leaves
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Cold water or 2-3 tablespoons natural yogurt (optional)
- Sunflower and pumpkin seeds for decoration

Preparation method:

1. Preparing the ingredients: If you use dried chickpeas, make sure to soak them overnight and then boil until tender. If you prefer canned chickpeas, drain them well and rinse under cold water. Lentils, depending on the type (green or red), should be boiled until soft but not falling apart.

2. Mixing the ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the chickpeas, lentils, olive oil, garlic clove, parsley, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and ground cumin. If you prefer a softer paste, add a little cold water or yogurt to achieve the desired consistency.

3. Processing: Blend the ingredients until you get a smooth and homogeneous paste. Taste the paste and adjust the spices to your preference.

4. Serving: Transfer the paste to a bowl and decorate with sunflower and pumpkin seeds for added crunch. You can also drizzle a bit of olive oil on top for an appetizing look.

Serving suggestions: This lentil and chickpea paste is perfect to serve as an appetizer, alongside warm pita or fresh cut vegetables. You can also use it as a filling for healthy sandwiches or wraps.

Variations: You can experiment with this recipe by adding spices such as smoked paprika or turmeric for a distinct flavor. You can also replace parsley with fresh coriander or basil for a different note.
