Asparagus, a versatile and nutrient-rich ingredient, becomes a delicacy when prepared correctly. In this simple recipe, we will transform raw asparagus into a delicious and refined appetizer, wrapped in bacon and fried over high heat. To begin, ensure you have the necessary ingredients at hand: a bunch of fresh asparagus, a few thin slices of bacon (preferably Prague ham or prosciutto), olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Also, prepare a large pan, preferably one made of cast iron, which will retain heat well and provide even frying.

The first step is to clean the asparagus. Wash the asparagus spears well under cold running water and remove their woody ends. This can be easily done by naturally breaking the stems; the asparagus will snap at the point where it becomes more tender. After cleaning the asparagus, gently dry it with a kitchen towel.

I used 12 pieces of asparagus and the same amount of bacon with a little fat, salt, pepper, and oil for frying. The asparagus is wrapped in bacon and fried on high heat for a few minutes on both sides. Quick and, in my opinion, tasty.
