Spaghetti with sour cream sauce

The butter melts in the pan, and the onion and ham are sautéed one after the other; Spaghetti with sour cream sauce is served with a sauce thickened with milk and flour. The grated cheese melts gently into the hot sauce, while the parsley adds a fresh note. I eat it while the sauce still coats the spaghetti well. Preparation: 15 minutes. Cooking: 25 minutes. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened, then add the chopped parsley. 4. Pour the sauce over the onion and ham and stir for 2 minutes over low heat. Add the grated cheese, taste and adjust the salt and pepper. Serve the sauce over the spaghetti.
Notes
The cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of the spaghetti, so check it towards the end of the 10 minutes. Smoked ham can make the sauce saltier than pressed ham, so taste it before adding more salt. If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a little warm milk. Refrigerate any leftovers for up to 3 days and reheat over low heat. Serve with a simple green salad; the dish contains gluten and dairy.
Frequently asked questions

Pour in the milk gradually and stir constantly; if lumps form, pass the sauce through a fine-mesh sieve.

Yes, you can use 500 g of penne or fusilli; cook them according to the package directions and check the texture before draining.

Take it off the heat and whisk vigorously for 30 seconds, then gradually stir it back into the pan.
Can I add the cheese straight to the saucepan?
Yes, add it at the end and stir for about 1 minute, just until it starts to melt without sticking to the bottom.
