Homemade Nutella with Sweetened Condensed Milk

To make a delicious peanut butter, start by preparing the necessary ingredients. You will need roasted peanuts, good quality chocolate, salt, vanilla, and sweetened condensed milk. Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature to facilitate further mixing. Start by placing the peanuts on a baking tray covered with aluminum foil, making sure to lay them out in a single layer. This step is essential for ensuring even roasting. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius (equivalent to gas mark 3) and place the tray in the oven. After the first 5 minutes, it is crucial to turn the tray to allow the peanuts to roast evenly. Leave them in the oven for another 5 minutes, then remove the tray and let the peanuts cool completely. Once cooled, transfer the peanuts to a bowl and cover them with a plate. Holding the plate tightly, shake the bowl over the sink to loosen the peanut skins. This step is important as the skins can impart a bitter taste to the final paste. Select the shelled peanuts and place them in a blender. Repeat the process with the remaining peanuts, ensuring you get the maximum amount of shelled peanuts. Once all the peanuts are in the blender, pulse them until you achieve a smooth and liquid paste. This process may take a few minutes, depending on the power of the blender. When the peanut paste is ready, move on to preparing the chocolate. In a double boiler, in a heatproof bowl, add the chocolate cut into small pieces. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted. After the chocolate is melted, add the salt, vanilla, and sweetened condensed milk, mixing well to combine all the ingredients. Remove the bowl from the double boiler and add the peanut paste, stirring with a spatula until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Transfer this delicious paste into a clean, dry jar. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature, then cover or seal the jar and place it in the refrigerator. It is recommended to wait a few hours, ideally overnight, before serving. This peanut paste can be enjoyed on toast, in desserts, or even as an ingredient in various recipes, bringing a touch of flavor and creaminess to every dish. Enjoy!
