Cake with jam and potato layers

To prepare a delicious mashed potato, we start by carefully peeling the potatoes, ensuring that we remove all the unsuitable parts. Choose quality potatoes, preferably those that are more waxy, so that the mash is creamier and smoother. After peeling, cut them into evenly sized cubes so that they cook evenly. Put the potato cubes in a large pot, add cold water and a pinch of salt, then bring to a boil. Let the potatoes boil for about 15-20 minutes, or until they become very tender. Test with a fork; if it goes through easily, the potatoes are ready. Once boiled, drain them well and let them cool for a few minutes. Next, mash the potatoes using a potato masher or a blender until you achieve a smooth puree. It is important not to leave larger pieces, as they will affect the final texture. After achieving the puree, gradually add the flour, ensuring that it is mixed with the baking powder beforehand for even distribution. This combination will give a fluffy and light texture to the dish. Mix well to incorporate the flour into the puree until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Once you have a consistent mixture, add beaten eggs to bind the ingredients together. Mix again until the eggs are completely absorbed. Finally, you can add your favorite spices, such as salt, pepper, or nutmeg, to taste. If you want to turn the puree into a more sophisticated recipe, you can add grated cheese, butter, or cream for a richer flavor. Mix all the ingredients well, ensuring everything is well homogenized. Now, the mashed potatoes are ready to be used in various dishes. They can be shaped, fried, or used as a base for various sauces. Regardless of how you choose to serve it, this mashed potato will always add a touch of warmth and comfort to your meal. Enjoy it alongside a juicy steak or as part of a vegetarian platter.
