Fruit salad with kiwi and bananas

Fruit salad with kiwi and bananas brings together small cubes of fresh fruit and canned fruit in a juicy mix. Pitted sour cherries and soft peaches mingle with the firmer pieces of kiwi and orange. I serve it chilled in small cups; I really like this contrast in textures. Prep: 20 minutes. Cook time: 0 minutes. Total time: 20 minutes. Serves: 4 bowls or 8 cups. About 200 kcal and 3 g protein per serving.
Ingredients
- 3 kiwis (210 g)
- 2 bananas (240 g)
- 1 large pear (230 g)
- 1 large orange (250 g)
- 150 g canned pineapple drained
- 150 g canned sour cherries drained
- 150 g canned peaches drained
Preparation
1. Drain the canned pineapple, sour cherries and peaches. Remove the pits from the sour cherries. 2. Peel the kiwi and orange, cut them into small cubes and put them in a bowl with the drained canned fruit. 3. At the end, peel and cut the pear and bananas into small cubes, then mix them into the salad.
Notes
Keep the salad covered in the fridge and eat it within 3 days. I time the preparation to the meal so it doesn't sit for long in the fruit juice. Choose kiwi that gives only slightly when pressed, and a pear that's ripe but still firm. Drain the canned fruit well, especially if it's in a lot of syrup, and don't pour the liquid into the bowl. I choose store-bought canned peaches because they look better in the salad. I serve it with plain pancakes; if you don't have canned sour cherries, you can use 150 g fresh pitted sour cherries.
