Black-White Cake (Lenten)

To prepare a delicious coconut and cocoa cake, I invite you to carefully follow each step of the recipe. We start by combining the dry ingredients: coconut, sugar, and vanilla sugar. These will form the flavorful base of our cake. Mixing these ingredients is done with a spatula or a wooden spoon, so that the flavors integrate perfectly. Once the mixture becomes homogeneous, we gradually add the oil, which should be at room temperature, mixed with water. This combination will bring moisture and contribute to the fine texture of the cake. After obtaining a uniform composition, it is time to add the flour, which has been previously mixed with baking powder. This step is essential, as the baking powder will help the cake rise and become fluffy. Mix gently, avoiding lumps, until the flour is completely incorporated. The resulting composition is divided into two equal parts. In one of them, we add the rum and cocoa, which will enhance the flavor and give a special shade to the cake. We prepare the baking tray, which should measure 30x40 cm. It can be lined with baking paper or greased with oil and sprinkled with flour to prevent sticking. The first composition, the one with cocoa, is poured evenly into the tray, and then the white composition is added on top. It is normal for the latter to have a thinner consistency, but do not worry; during baking, it will firm up and create a perfect texture. The oven should be preheated to a medium temperature, and the cake is carefully placed inside. Baking will take about 30-40 minutes, but it is essential to check with a toothpick test: if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. After being taken out of the oven, let the cake cool completely. The last step is to dust it with sugar, using a sieve to achieve a uniform and aesthetic effect. This coconut and cocoa cake will surely become everyone's favorite who tastes it!
