How to Obtain Carrot Sticks and Cubes

Step 1: We start the cooking process by cleaning the carrot. We use a vegetable peeler or, if you prefer, a regular knife to remove the skins. Make sure to eliminate any impurities so that you have a clean ingredient ready for cooking. Don't forget to cut off the ends of the carrot, removing the leafy part and the roots, to achieve an even base. Step 2: Once the carrot is well cleaned, cut it into pieces about 7-8 cm long. These dimensions are ideal for facilitating further cutting and ensuring even cooking. Also, these portions are easy to handle, giving you better control during preparation. Step 3: The next step is to create a flat edge on each piece of carrot. This is done by slicing a thin piece along the length of each piece, which will provide stability during further cuts. Once you have the flat side, turn the carrot with the flat side down so it doesn't slip during the cutting process. Step 4: Using a sharp knife, cut the carrot pieces lengthwise into thin slices, being careful to make them the desired thickness. Typically, the slices should be about 6-12 mm wide, to ensure even cooking and a pleasant texture. This step is crucial, as the thickness of the slices will influence the cooking time and final consistency. Step 5: After obtaining the desired slices, stack 2-3 slices of carrots, turning them to cut again. This time, cut them lengthwise into sticks, having the same thickness as the slices. The resulting sticks are very versatile; you can use them as they are or cut them into cubes to add refinement to your dishes. Step 6: Finally, stack several carrot sticks and cut them crosswise. The resulting carrot cubes will not only cook evenly but will also add a splash of color and texture to your dishes. These cubes can be used in salads, soups, sides, or various other dishes, giving them an attractive appearance and delicious flavor. So, after you finish cutting the carrots, you will notice how easy and enjoyable it is to enjoy this versatile ingredient in your kitchen.
