Bok Choy with Radishes

To prepare a delicious dish with bok choy, we start by ensuring we have all the necessary ingredients at hand. The first step is to take care of the bok choy. We carefully cut off the root, leaving only the leaves and stems. The root can be used as a garnish on the plate, adding a splash of color to the final dish. We separate the leaves from the stems, and then cut them into thin strips about 2 cm wide. We cut the stems into pieces of 1.5 cm, so they cook evenly and provide a pleasant texture. In a large skillet, we melt the butter and olive oil, which will add a rich flavor to our dish. Once the butter has melted, we add the cut bok choy stems, sautéing them for about 5 minutes. This step is essential to bring out their flavor and soften them a bit. After the stems are cooked, we add the sliced radishes, onion, bell pepper, and garlic, if you choose to use it. We season with pepper and salt, then add the bok choy leaves. Now, all the ingredients mix well and are kept on the heat for 3 minutes, or until they are warm enough and full of flavor. This combination of ingredients offers a contrast of textures and flavors, and garlic, in particular, is an ingredient that should not be missed, as it adds a special taste. If you want to give it a stronger flavor, feel free to add more garlic, depending on your preferences. It is important not to leave the dish on the heat too long after adding the radishes, as they can discolor and lose their freshness. The dish is perfect to be served alongside a juicy grill, grilled pasta, or simply as is, accompanied by a slice of toasted bread and a glass of good wine. This dish is not only healthy but also colorful and full of vitamins, making it ideal for a spring or summer meal. In conclusion, do not forget to enjoy every bite and experiment with different ingredient combinations, adjusting the recipe to your personal taste!
