Tart for Winter Holidays

To prepare a delicious cake, we start by letting the margarine soften well at room temperature. Once the margarine is soft and creamy, we vigorously mix it with sugar until we achieve a fluffy and homogeneous composition. This step is essential because the sugar will dissolve better and contribute to an airy texture of the cake. After obtaining a uniform mixture, we add a fresh egg, which will give consistency and lightness to the dough. We continue by sprinkling the baking powder, which will help the cake rise beautifully during baking. We then incorporate the milk, which will add moisture and make the cake fluffier. If we want a hint of flavor, we can also add a few tablespoons of liqueur, which will bring a touch of elegance to our dessert. After mixing all the ingredients well, we gradually add the flour, mixing constantly. It is important not to form lumps, so we can use a spatula or a whisk to achieve a fine and smooth dough. If we have a little time, it is recommended to let the dough rest in the fridge for an hour or two. This step is not mandatory, but it will intensify the flavors and improve the texture of the dough. After the dough has been in the fridge, we take it out and prepare to shape the cake. We roll out the dough on a surface dusted with a little flour, forming a round sheet about 1.5 cm thick. Then, we carefully transfer the sheet to the round baking pan, making sure it settles evenly. On top of the dough sheet, we put our favorite jam, choosing a flavor that delights our taste buds, whether it’s apricot, raspberry, or blueberry. After spreading the jam, we let our imagination run wild and decorate the cake as we please. I chose to cut star shapes from some extra dough and arranged them nicely on top for an attractive look. As a final touch, I sprinkled coconut, which adds not only a special appearance but also a delightful aroma. Finally, we place the pan in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and bake the cake for about 30 minutes. When it’s done, we let it cool slightly and then dust it with sugar for an elegant finish. Now, the cake is ready to be enjoyed. Bon appétit!
