Grilled Stuffed Sausages

To prepare a delicious recipe for sausage stuffed with cheese and fried onion, we will start by gathering the necessary ingredients. You will need fresh sausages, onion, cheese, smoked bacon, oil, mustard, ketchup, and of course, bread for serving. This recipe is perfect for a gathering with friends or for a family dinner, being easy to prepare and very tasty. We start by cleaning the onion, which we will chop finely. We sauté it in a pan with a splash of oil until it turns golden and its aroma spreads throughout the kitchen. This will add an intense and savory flavor to the sausages. In the meantime, we take care of the cheese, which we will cut into long strips, resembling sticks. These will add a creamy and delicious texture to our dish. While the onion is sautéing, we take the sausages and make a lengthwise slit, being careful not to pierce them. This slit will be the perfect place to add all the delicious ingredients. We spread the inside of the slit with mustard, which will provide a spicy and aromatic flavor. Then, we add a few tablespoons of fried onion, followed by the strips of cheese, which will melt beautifully during cooking. On top, we add a splash of ketchup, which will add a sweet note and a pleasant contrast. If there is any left, we can also add the remaining fried onion for extra flavor. To finish the dish, we wrap the opening of the sausages with strips of smoked bacon, which will add a smoky and delicious taste, securing everything with toothpicks to ensure it stays intact during cooking. We place the prepared sausages on the hot grill and fry them for about 10 minutes, turning them several times until the bacon becomes crispy and the cheese starts to melt, creating an irresistible blend of flavors. When the sausages are ready, we can serve them in a baguette, like a hot dog, or individually, accompanied by extra mustard. This recipe is not only tasty but also a true visual delight, perfect for enjoying with loved ones. Bon appétit!
