Sweet Meatballs with Breadcrumbs and Chocolate

In a medium saucepan, add fresh milk, a pinch of salt, granulated sugar, diced butter, and vanilla extract. Place the saucepan over low heat and stir constantly to dissolve the sugar and butter. When the mixture begins to boil, you'll notice it transforming into a creamy and fragrant composition. At this point, gradually add the breadcrumbs, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Continue stirring until the breadcrumbs are fully absorbed and the mixture becomes homogeneous, then set the saucepan aside and let it cool. Once the breadcrumb mixture has cooled slightly, add a whole egg and the two yolks, mixing well to incorporate all the ingredients. This step is essential, as the egg will act as a binder, providing the necessary structure for the meatballs. Separately, in a clean bowl, beat the two egg whites until you achieve a firm, glossy foam. This will add air and lightness to the mixture, turning the meatballs into a fluffy delicacy. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the breadcrumb mixture using a spatula to retain the air in the egg whites. Finally, add the chocolate chips, stirring gently to distribute them evenly throughout the mixture. With wet hands, form small meatballs, ensuring they are of equal size for even cooking. Roll them in breadcrumbs, making sure they are coated on all sides. In a deep skillet, heat the oil over medium heat; it is important for the oil to be well heated to achieve a crispy crust. Carefully place the meatballs in the hot oil and fry them for a few minutes on each side until they become golden and crispy. Then place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil; even though they won't absorb much fat, this step will keep them fluffy. Before serving, dust them with sugar, adding a sweet touch and appealing appearance. Served warm, these chocolate meatballs are perfect as a dessert or snack, bringing a touch of joy in every bite. Enjoy them with a cup of warm milk or a cup of coffee for an unforgettable culinary experience!
