Chocolate Lamington Cake

Desert - Chocolate Lamington Cake by Aurora L. - Recipia

To prepare a delicious and savory dessert, we will start by gathering the necessary ingredients. Make sure you have on hand: 4 fresh eggs, 200 g of sugar, 100 g of butter, 200 ml of milk, 250 g of flour, 1 packet of baking powder, 50 g of cocoa, and 200 g of dark chocolate. The first step is to beat the eggs together with the sugar using a mixer until the mixture doubles in volume. This process will take about 5 minutes and is crucial for achieving a fluffy base. Once the eggs and sugar are well incorporated, we add the melted butter and warm milk. We mix well, ensuring that all the ingredients are homogeneous. In another bowl, we combine the flour with the baking powder and cocoa. It is essential to mix them well to avoid lumps in the final composition. Once the dry ingredients are well mixed, we gradually incorporate them into the wet mixture, stirring carefully to avoid losing air in the composition. Finally, we add the melted chocolate, which will bring an intense taste and a special aroma. After obtaining a homogeneous dough, we pour it into a baking tray lined with parchment paper (dimensions 25/35 cm) and place it in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. The baking time will be approximately 30-35 minutes, but it is good to check the base with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the base is ready. After baking, we let the base cool completely before cutting it into 3 cm squares. To create the chocolate sauce, we heat the milk in a saucepan. When the milk becomes hot but does not start to boil, we add the butter, sugar, and chocolate broken into pieces. We constantly stir until the chocolate completely melts and the sauce becomes creamy. We take each square of the base and dip them in the chocolate sauce, ensuring they are covered on all sides. After covering them, we sprinkle coconut flakes on top, which will add a crunchy texture and a hint of tropical flavor. We let the cakes cool completely on a rack so that the sauce sets. Once they have cooled, we can arrange them on an elegant platter. These chocolate squares are perfect for serving at a party or just to indulge yourself. Enjoy every bite and savor the delights you have created! Enjoy!
