Bread with Milk and Caraway

To prepare a delicious bread that will fill the house with an inviting aroma, we start by preparing our ingredients. In a bowl, we pour in the warm milk, making sure it is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast. We add fresh yeast and sugar, gently mixing until the yeast is completely dissolved. This mixture will activate the yeast, and the dough will rise beautifully. In another container, we sift the flour, adding salt to enhance the flavor of the bread. We make a well in the center of the flour, like a small crater, where we will pour the milk, yeast, and sugar mixture. We also add olive oil, which will give the bread a soft texture and delicate taste. We begin to mix the ingredients with a spatula or by hand, gradually incorporating the flour into the wet mixture. We knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes elastic and no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl. Once the dough is ready, we cover it with a clean towel and let it rest in a warm place for 50 minutes. This step is essential as it allows the yeast to act and the dough to rise, becoming fluffy and airy. After this period, we start shaping the dough. We divide the dough into two equal parts and form two loaves, making sure to give them a uniform shape. We prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper, where we carefully place the two loaves. Before putting them in the oven, we brush them with a beaten egg to achieve a golden and shiny crust. We sprinkle cumin on top, which will add a distinct aroma and intense flavor, perfectly blending with the fluffy crumb of the bread. We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and place the tray inside. We bake the bread for 35-40 minutes until it turns golden and sounds hollow when tapped. After the baking time has passed, we take the bread out of the oven and let it cool on a rack to maintain its crispy texture. This bread will be perfect served warm, alongside butter or cheese, or it can be used as a base for delicious sandwiches. Enjoy every slice and savor the aroma and taste of homemade bread that brings joy and warmth to every meal!
